Amazon Bets Big on Quick Commerce, Plans to Expand Amazon Now to 300 Cities Across India
Amazon said the service now reaches over 50 million customers and will add daily essentials as it builds a larger minutes-delivery network.
On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy announced plans to expand the 'Amazon Now' ultra-fast delivery service to more than 300 cities across India, aiming to build the country's largest delivery-in-minutes network.
Currently, Amazon Now serves over 50 million customers across 15 metro and non-metro cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi-NCR. Jassy noted this quick-commerce model is the company's fastest-growing e-commerce business unit in India.
The company plans to increase its network of micro-fulfillment and urban fulfillment centers to accommodate broader daily essentials. Infrastructure upgrades will support delivering one million products same-day and four million products next-day.
Alongside the logistics expansion, the company announced 'Sammaan,' a dedicated welfare program for delivery associates funded by a USD 300 million investment supporting health, wellness, and education.
Amazon is also expanding air-conditioned 'Ashray' rest centers to 250 locations this year for all logistics drivers. Jassy stated that lessons learned building the Indian network are helping the company scale operations globally.
