Delhi: BJP Mahila Morcha to take out protest march against Congress MP over JNU alleged sexual harassment case

- Jawaharlal Nehru University dismissed Akoijam from service on October 9 after its internal committee substantiated "sex for marks" allegations from 11 female students. Delhi Police registered a First Information Report on October 11.
- Complainants alleged an "intimidating and hostile learning environment" with "inadequate professional boundaries" in interactions with female students. University documents noted a "recurring pattern of inappropriate personal interaction, sexually suggestive conduct, and unwelcome physical contact."
- During Monday's "Nari Shakti Hunkar Andolan" protest, BJP women MPs demanded Akoijam's expulsion from Congress, accusing leadership of hypocrisy. They challenged Rahul Gandhi over his "apparent silence" regarding the serious misconduct charges.
- Akoijam has vehemently denied the allegations, labeling his dismissal a politically motivated "witch hunt." Police issued a notice summoning the Inner Manipur representative for questioning on Thursday regarding the ongoing investigation.
