The Council of State rules that the Cabinet has sufficiently substantiated and explained the choice for Herwijnen. It is also "sufficiently guaranteed that there are no risks to public health," the highest administrative court rules.

The Ministry of Defence can proceed with the construction of a military radar station near Herwijnen. The Council of State has rejected objections from, among others, several residents, the municipal council, and the Municipal Executive of the municipality of West-Betuwe.
The decision has finally been made: the military radar in Herwijnen is welcome. The Council of State maintained the national integration plan for the radar station on Wednesday. This removes an important legal obstacle for Defence. “This is very disappointing news.”
