- On Oct 19 the Uttar Pradesh government said Deepotsav 2025 in Ayodhya set two Guinness World Records with 26.17 lakh diyas lit and 2,128 people performing aarti at Saryu Ghat.
- Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, annual diya counts rose steadily from 1.71 lakh in 2017 to 25.12 lakh in 2024, the government said.
- Guinness officials verified the diya count using drones, with the effort jointly achieved by the UP Department of Tourism, the Ayodhya administration, and Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University.
- In a formal ceremony, UP Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh and Principal Secretary Amrit Abhijat presented Guinness certificates to Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, while officials framed the event as reflecting the spirit of a Viksit Uttar Pradesh and a Viksit Bharat.
