US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday the death of Private Sarah Beckstrom, 20, of the West Virginia National Guard, from injuries sustained in a shooting two days earlier near the White House, while Private Andrew Wolf, 24, remains in critical condition.
It is "Sarah Beckstrom, a young, beautiful and highly respected person who began his service in June 2023," said the president. The other wounded soldier "is struggling for his life"
According to Donald Trump, one of the two National Guards shot in Washington on Wednesday died, and the woman was only 20 years old.
