David “Dave” L. Backhaus, 76, Cadott, passed away peacefully, Monday, July 6, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire. Dave was born April 24, 1950, to George and Carry (Gilles) Backhaus, in Milwaukee. He grew up in Menomonee Falls, and in the mid-1970s, he moved with his family, to Cadott, when Dave purchased Cameric’s Tavern and renamed the bar Dave’s Place (now known as J & J’s Bar). He...
