Jesper de Jong (world number 106) has reached the final of an ATP tournament for the first time in his career. In Bastad he defeated Camilo Ugo Carabelli 6-3, 7-6 (3) in the semi-final.
Italo-Argentino Luciano Darderi became champion of the ATP 250 of Bastad when he won in the final the Dutch Jesper De Jong in three sets for 6-4, 3-6 and 6-3. The tennis player born in Villa Gesell, 23 years old and ranked 55th in the world, reached his third title in the main circuit, in a season where the Marrakech tournament had already been awarded.
