State pharmacy board penalizes Danville animal shelter over euthanasia records

A Virginia Board of Pharmacy committee decided on Wednesday to fine the Danville Area Humane Society $500 for violating state code in its euthanasia recordkeeping.  The animal shelter, the only one in Danville, will also be required to undergo a random inspection within the next 12 months, and then once every three years. Danville animal shelter appears before state board after settlement offer rescinded

Leaders with the Danville Area Humane Society were in Richmond on Wednesday for a hearing before the Virginia Board of Pharmacy after the authority rescinded an offer to simply pay a $500 fine instead.
