DANKO MEREDITH FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST TACAERO AND KEVIN SUTTERFIELD OVER EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT CRASH AT FREDERICKSBURG, TEXAS
Danko Meredith, Trial Lawyers filed a federal lawsuit for Canard Aero, LLC against TacAero, its predecessor entities, and Kevin Sutterfield regarding a January 5, 2026 crash of an experimental aircraft in Fredericksburg, Texas.
TacAero was contracted to reassemble, inspect, and conduct FAA-required Phase I flight testing of the Just Ducky experimental aircraft powered by a Rotax 916iS engine.
Kevin Sutterfield, with less than one hour of total flight time in the aircraft type, piloted the aircraft on its maiden test flight on January 5, 2026.
The complaint alleges negligence and breach of contract, noting cockpit instruments showed insufficient engine power during takeoff, but Sutterfield proceeded instead of aborting the flight.
