A LOT Polish Airlines flight from Warsaw to Newark in the United States was forced to return to Poland. Police have detained eight people suspected of making a false bomb threat.
A LOT Polish Airlines plane flying from Warsaw to the United States on Sunday, August 11, had to turn around and land at Chopin Airport, RMF FM reported. "After receiving a signal about a potential threat on board the plane, the captain made the decision to return to the airport in Warsaw in accordance with the procedure," the LOT press office reported.

Airport spokeswoman Anna Dermont said that appropriate procedures had been initiated. Several dozen minutes later, the Warsaw police reported the arrest of eight suspects in connection with the bomb threat.
