The Qatari Nasser Al-Attiyah has reached the record holder of the Dakar Rally with his sixth overall victory. The German winner of the previous year, Navigator Timo Gottschalk, had left prematurely.
The penultimate, 12th stage of the Dakar Rally (Al-Henakiyah - Yanbu; 310 km) was won by the overall leader in the car class, Nasser Al-Attiyah (Dacia), who thus stepped on the threshold of his sixth title.
