"Cute Round Eyes": Rare Winter Bird Arrives in Nago, Okinawa; Spoonbills Are Rare to Spot

[Nago] A spoonbill was spotted on the morning of October 30th at the Nasada River in Kogachi, Nago City. It is rare for it to be spotted in Okinawa Prefecture. Tokuchi Yutaka, a manager at the nationally designated Yagaji Wildlife Protection Area, managed to photograph it. According to Tokuchi, spoonbills are one of the few winter birds found in Japan.
