Croatia orders detention of Ukrainian man wanted in Germany for Nord Stream blasts in 2022
A Croatian judge ordered the detention of a Ukrainian man wanted by Germany for the 2022 Nord Stream gas pipeline explosions, according to his lawyer.
The man was arrested in Pula, Croatia, on Wednesday under a European warrant.
German prosecutors said the suspect was a trained scuba diver involved in planting explosives on the Nord Stream pipelines in the Baltic Sea near Bornholm.
The explosions on September 26, 2022, damaged pipelines carrying Russian gas to Germany under the Baltic Sea.
