Criminal Minds: Evolution Ending Its Run with Season 20, Set for 2027
The streamer is ending the long-running procedural after 20 seasons, and the final installment is set to air in 2027, sources said.
On Friday, Paramount+ announced that Criminal Minds: Evolution will conclude with its upcoming 20th season, with the long-running procedural airing its final episodes in 2027.
The cancellation marks the first official decision under Co-Chair & Chief Content Officer for Skydance Direct to Consumer Casey Bloys, following a recommendation from the previous Paramount+ regime.
Criminal Minds originally aired for 15 seasons on CBS, totaling more than 300 episodes before moving to streaming. The franchise concludes its combined run across both platforms with 20 seasons.
Showrunner and Executive Producer Erica Messer expressed gratitude in a Friday statement for the cast and crew. She noted the team is "looking forward to sharing Season 20 with everyone."
Production on the final season wrapped earlier this fall, though no premiere date has been set beyond 2027. The Behavioral Analysis Unit will conclude its final cases following the previous season's events.
