Crime in Oakland is down, police department says - Local News Matters

Crime in Oakland is down over 30 percent this week compared to the same week in July last year, the city’s Police Department said.   Between July 14-20 of this year, overall crime was down 32 percent and violent crime was down 30 percent when compared to July 14-20 in 2024, police said.   No homicides were reported between July 14-20.
