India, West Indies Draw T20 Series After Rain Washes Out Decider
- On Saturday, October 17, 2026, the fifth and final T20I between India and West Indies at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru was abandoned due to persistent rain, leaving the five-match series tied 2-2.
- After four matches left the series tied 2-2, the decider was reduced to a nine-overs-per-side contest following a lengthy rain delay; West Indies captain Shai Hope won the toss and opted to bowl first.
- India reached 118/5 in 7.4 overs, led by Ishan Kishan's rapid 30 off 10 deliveries and Naman Dhir's unbeaten 24, while Keemo Paul and Shamar Springer each claimed two wickets for West Indies.
- The washout denied West Indies a chance to complete their first series victory in India since 2002, while the match marked an anticlimactic return for international cricket to the Chinnaswamy Stadium after a two-year gap.
- India now prepares for its tour of New Zealand, with the first T20I scheduled for October 22 in Christchurch, as the team seeks to carry momentum from the series despite the washout.
