Shrimp Boat Catches Fire Off North Myrtle Beach Coast
A boat sank off the coast of North Myrtle Beach Monday. The 48-foot shrimp boat caught fire around 4pm, nearly a half-mile from the Cherry Grove Pier. No injuries were reported as the boat crew was rescued and transported back to shore. The Coast Guard was forced to issue a “safety marine information broadcast notifying mariners of the potential hazard to navigation.” Several fire crews and police units responded to the incident.
