The Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing has today announced that the contract was signed on Thursday, “in compliance with the legally defined deadlines”, leading to the resulting delay of judicial sanctions between December 2023 and August 2025.
Financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, the purchase provides for the provision of 62 urban and 55 regional trains and "is a giant step towards halting the lack of material", says the CP.
The €746 million contract between CP and Alstom/DST includes 117 trains, spare parts, and a maintenance workshop in Matosinhos.
