Coventry City Player Ratings After 4-2 Carabao Cup Win at Plymouth
Ephron Mason-Clark and Victor Torp scored after halftime as Coventry City converted 2 of its late chances to secure the Carabao Cup win.
On Saturday, Coventry City defeated Plymouth Argyle 4-2 in a Carabao Cup tie at Home Park, securing advancement to the third round.
City raced into a 2-0 lead within five minutes through goals from Taiwo Awoniyi and Jack Rudoni, but Plymouth Argyle fought back to level at 2-2 early in the second half.
Substitute Ephron Mason-Clark restored the lead in the 67th minute before Victor Torp sealed victory with a 78th-minute penalty after Brandon Thomas-Asante was fouled in the box.
Manager Frank Lampard saw his side prevail before 14,210 spectators, with 2,244 traveling supporters present, as Coventry maintained 66 per cent possession throughout.
The Sky Blues now prepare for Hull City at home on Saturday, August 29, at 3pm following this cup success.
