Court okays police academy training for jail employees

Approving the participation of Shelby County jail employees in police academy training was the main action item at the Wednesday, June 10, meeting of the Shelby County commissioners court. Shelby County Sheriff ’s Office Chief Deputy Mike Hanson requested the court approve an agreement allowing a part-time jailer at the department to attend police academy training with the county bearing the cost of the program.
