Council to start work on new policy to restrict alcohol sales in Christchurch

A bill to make changes to the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 was introduced to Parliament on Wednesday. Justice Minister Kiri Allan said she hoped the changes would be passed into law by mid-next year. LAPs can be put in place by councils to restrict when and where alcohol can be sold, but many have failed.
