After two years of heavy losses, Coop's total loss more than doubled in 2024 to 2.7 billion. The company, once the largest in the Nordic region, now has only 26 consumer associations left, reports Dagens Nyheter.
Grocery giant Coop continues to bleed money and the Swedish Cooperative Association (KF) and the Coop associations made a total operating loss of SEK 2.7 billion last year.
Coop, once the largest company in the Nordic region, now has only 26 consumer associations left. After two heavy loss years, Coop's total loss more than doubled to SEK 2.7 billion in 2024. Market shares continue to shrink and there are no assets left to sell. Coop Syd is particularly badly off with the Coop stores in Skåne and Blekinge.
The Swedish Coop chain is in "crisis".
