Ito Nakamura (53), whose parents are from Okinawa, is the representative of the Kansai Okinawa Culture Research Association in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture. Influenced by her mother, she started learning Ryukyu dance from an early age and grew up feeling close to Okinawa. She experienced the earthquake disaster when she was a fourth-year student at Osaka University of Arts, which she commuted to from her home in Amagasaki.
