On 14 August 2025, the Head of State of the Republic of the Congo addressed the Nation on the eve of the 65th anniversary of the country's independence. Denis Sassou-Nguesso referred in particular to a "peace dangerously threatened by an international context marked by the recurrence of armed conflicts", which "cannot facilitate the exit of an economic crisis whose repercussions jeopardize the well-being of the people".
