Due to a second outbreak of contagious nodular dermatosis in the Ain, the regulated cattle surveillance zone has grown in the Jura department since Monday, September 8, 2025. In addition to the nine communes already in the area since August 25, 63 new communes are now under surveillance.

The new case detected this weekend in the Ain, in Injoux-Génissiat, some 20 kilometres north of the first Aindian foyer, automatically extends the surveillance area, which now includes some 60 additional communes in the Jura. Chapelle-des-Bois, south of the Doubs, is only 15 kilometres away from the vaccination border.
