In the fight against the lack of affordable housing in tourist strongholds, the EU is planning stricter rules for short-term tenants such as Airbnb. EU Commission Vice-President Teresa Ribera is expected to present the Affordable Housing Act (Affordable Housing Act) on 9 September.
They block much-needed housing and drive up rents: therefore, the EU now wants to take action against short-term renters such as Airbnb. Rules already exist in Paris, Barcelona and Venice, but uniform rules are now planned.
