TV Comic Hospitalised After Freak Samurai Sword Accident
Paddy Young shared hospital photos after the accident, showing his bandaged hand and sling while joking about the injury.
Comedian Paddy Young, 34, revealed on social media he was hospitalized after accidentally cutting his finger with a samurai sword, sharing photos from his hospital bed.
Sam Campbell allegedly brought the sword to Young's home before fleeing when the comedian fainted, prompting Young to thank Campbell and fellow comedians Bebe Cave, Ed Night, and Horatio Gould for their support.
SNL UK director Will Farrell joked the sword "wouldn't have cut you if you were honorable," while co-star Ania Magliano expressed concern for Young's "beatboxing hand."
Young noted his Edinburgh Fringe run remains 90% sold out, encouraging fans to attend his upcoming tour despite the hospital stay.
Scheduled for autumn 2026, the satirical sketch comedy will return for 12 additional episodes, with producer Lorne Michaels expressing pride in the show's ongoing progress.
