- Following last month’s denial of access, Colorado’s Democratic delegation toured the Aurora ICE facility Monday, amid debates over federal oversight policies.
- During the visit, senior ICE personnel were absent and staff declined to provide detainees’ population counts or criminal records, with more than 1,100 detainees on lockdown.
- Amid efforts to release a detainee held over 600 days, a U.S. District Court judge called the facility’s conditions `abhorrent` and lawmakers argue continued denial of access violates federal law.
