Colombia: Conflicts between guerrillas lead to the largest exodus in the country's recent history
The Catatumbo region, in northeastern Colombia, has been living at the rate of fighting for three months between the ELN guerrillas and a group of FARC dissidents. These clashes have led to the largest exodus in the country's recent history. Most of the displaced have taken refuge in major cities in the region such as Cúcuta. Since the beginning of February 2025, families have been transferred to shelters in distant cities such as Medellin.
