- Surveillance video released by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro on Thursday shows Allen firing a shotgun at a Secret Service agent, with the indictment accusing Allen of using a "deadly and dangerous weapon" to "forcibly assault, intimidate and interfere" with the officer.
- Allen's attorneys have questioned the government's theory, writing that the case "is based upon inferences drawn about Mr. Allen's intent that raise more questions than answers." The suspect has not yet entered a plea.
- Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche indicated last week that investigators required additional ballistics evidence before finalizing the assault charge, as the suspect remains in custody following his arrest.
