ÖVP, SPÖ and NEOS have agreed. In order to decide the extension in the package with a new regulation of the civil service as planned, the tripartite coalition must convince at least one opposition party of its plans. The aim remains that the reform enters into force at the beginning of 2027.
The government groups ÖVP, SPÖ and NEOS will go to the opposition parties FPÖ and Grüne for the negotiations on the reform of compulsory military service this week. This was announced by the Ministry of Defence of the APA on Monday. The internal coalition talks had last been "constructive" and had led to a "total package", which is now to be presented to FPÖ and Grünen. A two-thirds majority is required for the reform.
