Police investigate suspected homicide in south Charlotte

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police launched a homicide investigation on Friday after finding a person dead in South Charlotte.CMPD did not release the victim’s identity or what might have led to the killing.In a statement, the department said CMPD officers found the victim dead with a gunshot wound in the 5100 block of Cherrycrest Lane. CMPD is investigating another homicide with the latest one in south Charlotte on Friday morning. It happened around 8 a.m. at an apartment complex on Cherrycrest Lane. That’s where police say a man was shot. He died at the scene. While CMPD did not say if an arrest has been made, they say it’s unclear what led up to that shooting.
