The salary of Jammu and Kashmir MLAs and ministers will be increased from Rs 1.8 lakh to Rs 3 lakh. The Omar Abdullah government has brought amendments to the pension revision of former MLAs, ease of doing business and GST Act. These revolutionary bills have been introduced in the Assembly to boost the economy and create a business-friendly environment.
A bill has also been introduced to amend the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature Members' Pension Act, 1984. The increase in salaries and allowances was discussed in the House in the last session, following which a House Committee comprising Treasury and opposition MLAs was formed.
