Leipzig and Dresden awarded EU label for climate neutrality

On Wednesday, 7 May, the city of Leipzig was rewarded at EU level for its efforts on the road to climate neutrality. Dresden and Leipzig have been awarded the "Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities" label by the EU, which is intended to pay tribute to the efforts of the Saxon cities on their way to "climate neutrality".

Patrick Child, Deputy Director-General for the Environment at the European Commission, praised the joint climate action of the administration, private sector, research and development as well as the active city society in Leipzig.
