City staff asks for bigger snow clearing budget

SAINT JOHN – With only 50 to 60 per cent of the city’s sidewalks cleared of snow and ice during crucial times this past winter – a number that sometimes dropped to 25 per cent – the city’s public works director is asking council for an increase to the $2.6 million snow clearing budget.
