Chrome Autofill Now Supports Passport, Driver's License and Vehicle Info

On Monday, Google announced that Google Chrome's Enhanced autofill can now fill passport, driver's license number, and vehicle registration globally in all languages.
A few weeks ago, Google rolled out Gemini in Chrome to all Mac and Windows desktop users in the U.S., boosting functionality amid competition from Perplexity and OpenAI and Chrome's 73% market share.
Desktop users must choose to turn on the feature by Settings > Autofill and passwords > Enhanced autofill, and Chrome says it asks for confirmation and protects data with encryption, though page URL and content are shared with Google.
For users, this means faster, more accurate form completion as Chrome now better understands complex forms and varied formatting, expanding autofill beyond addresses, passwords and payment information.
In the coming months, Chrome will support more data types, and Google plans AI Mode, agentic capabilities, anti-scam tools, automatic password resets, plus recent smaller features like notification controls and account switching.
