Chow Opens up 9-Point Lead over Bradford in Toronto Mayoral Race
Olivia Chow holds a 9-point lead as the poll shows weaker approval ratings and a sharp gender divide in voter support.
Mayor Olivia Chow leads challenger Brad Bradford by 9 points among decided voters, receiving 48% support compared to Bradford's 39% in the latest Liaison Strategies survey.
Released on Friday, the Mainstreet Research survey places Chow at 38.1% support, with many voters remaining undecided as the campaign unfolds in the weeks before election day.
Despite her lead, Chow's approval rating slipped to 49% as 45% of residents now disapprove of her performance. Regionally, she leads in Downtown while Bradford leads in Etobicoke.
A significant gender gap emerged, with Chow leading women 56% to 32%, while Bradford captured 47% of men; 78% of voters cited affordability as critically important.
Toronto's mayoral election is scheduled for October 26, with 15% of voters remaining undecided and another 14% saying they might change their minds, leaving the outcome far from certain.
