The EU is stepping up the fight against the illegal puppy and kitten trade. On Tuesday in Strasbourg, the European Parliament gave final approval to a law requiring breeders and sellers to register. Furthermore, microchipping will be mandatory in all member states from 2030.
Among other things, there is no need to rush to the vet for a microchip implant due to the transitional periods. In general, it would be prohibited to permanently tie dogs and cats to solid objects.
