Liu Jiyuan, the first director of China's National Space Administration and an expert in launch vehicle and strategic missile control technology, recently passed away at the age of 93. In recent years, high-ranking officials with a space background in the Chinese Communist Party have been purged, many of whom were Liu Jiyuan's former subordinates, including Ma Xingrui, who held the vice-state-level position.
