On Tuesday, the Taiwan authorities asked the Chinese government to assume its "responsibility" in connection with the Tiananmen massacre, which took place in 1989 in the homonymous square in central Beijing and in which hundreds of people died as part of a series of protests led by Chinese students and in favor of political and economic reforms.
