China executes four more Myanmar mafia members
The Bai family mafia defrauded victims of more than $4 billion, causing six deaths and numerous injuries, as part of China’s crackdown on cross-border telecom fraud operations.
- On February 02, 2026 the Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court said four members of the Bai family mafia were executed for causing six Chinese deaths and defrauding over 29 billion yuan in Myanmar.
- Bai clan established 41 compounds in Myanmar's Kokang region running casinos and telecom scam operations backed by a militia involving kidnappings and drug trafficking.
- The Shenzhen court sentenced five people, including Bai Suocheng, to death in November, and the Guangdong Provincial High People's Court dismissed their appeals, the court said.
- Beijing framed the executions as part of a wider crackdown on scam parks in Southeast Asia, where regional authorities face mounting pressure from China, the United States and others; 11 other accused operators were announced last week.
- Court officials described the offences as `exceptionally heinous`, with serious consequences posing a tremendous threat, while state media documentaries emphasised authorities' resolve to eradicate scam networks.
