A report by the cross-party Women and Equalities Committee has called for tough action to protect women and girls from female genital mutilation, also known as female circumcision

A report warns female genital mutilation is still happening in the UK, with some women and girls being taken abroad for it.

MPs on the Equalities Committee say survivors face a postcode lottery for support, and funding has fallen. They want ministers to restore Home Office spending to previous levels and improve healthcare, data and prosecutions. Survivors of FGM can access support through the Calabash Clinic in Croydon and the Family Nurse Partnership in Wandsworth.”
