- Body-Worn camera footage captures officers repeatedly directing Rodriguez to drop the weapon and attempting to create distance, but he continued advancing with the knife raised before one officer discharged their firearm.
- Following the shooting, personnel provided medical aid to Rodriguez, who was later pronounced dead; a subsequent review identified 3 knives connected to the suspect, including one recovered from his backpack.
- Police Chief Darrick Jacob and Mayor Caroline Torosis supported the responding officers, noting the incident remains under investigation as required by California law, which mandates video release within 45 days.
