- On Wednesday, author Tomi Adeyemi denounced the Paramount Pictures adaptation of her novel "Children of Blood and Bone," calling the project "the worst thing I have ever had to live through" in a five-minute video.
- Adeyemi, who co-wrote the screenplay with director Gina Prince-Bythewood, revealed she left set "hyperventilating and sobbing" and accused producers of "antagonizing" her through the 18 months since.
- Following a trailer launch at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on Monday, Adeyemi stated the marketing campaign forced her to publicly clarify the reality behind the production.
- Earlier this month, the author posted screenshots of texts with star Amandla Stenberg, who plays Princess Amari, instructing Stenberg not to use her name in interviews before blocking her.
- "I never want to hear about this project again," Adeyemi concluded. Representatives for Paramount Pictures and Prince-Bythewood did not respond to requests for comment regarding the dispute.
