EFL Fixture Release LIVE: West Ham Learn Championship Schedule
Wolves open at home to Blackburn as the EFL schedules Championship returns for West Ham and Burnley after relegation.
The English Football League released the 2026-27 fixture list on Thursday, marking the return of relegated West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers to the Championship.
Wolves will launch the season at home to Blackburn Rovers on Friday, August 14, at 8pm under new manager Cesar Peixoto, with Tony Mowbray returning for a second spell in charge of Blackburn.
West Ham face fellow relegated side Burnley at Turf Moor on the opening Sunday, then host Charlton Athletic at the London Stadium the following Saturday in their first Championship match at home since 2011-12.
Southampton will start the season on minus four points due to the 'Spygate' scandal, requiring victories against Watford and Stoke City to reach zero points before the campaign truly begins.
Newly-Promoted Cardiff City face Wrexham in a Welsh derby to close the opening weekend, while the East Lancashire derby between Blackburn and Burnley is scheduled for November 21 at Turf Moor.
