Champions League: Lille Bows Against Galatasaray, Manchester United Dark at Como
Victor Osimhen scored his first Champions League goal of the season as Galatasaray ended a five-game away losing run.
On Wednesday, Galatasaray defeated Lille 4-2 away, with Victor Osimhen scoring his first UEFA Champions League goal of the season to secure the Turkish club's first victory of the campaign.
Lille head coach Davide Ancelotti had stressed a collective effort to contain Osimhen, who played for the French club during the 2019/2020 season before moving to Napoli.
Yunus Akgün scored early for Galatasaray, but Soriba Diaoune netted twice to put Lille ahead; Lucas Torreira regained the lead before Osimhen fired past goalkeeper Berke to seal 4-2.
The victory boosts Galatasaray's hopes of reaching the knockout stages, while Lille remains without a point after three matches, placing immediate pressure on the French side.
Elsewhere in the UEFA Champions League, Como compounded Manchester United's problems with a 4-1 victory at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, extending United's winless run to seven matches.
Lille didn't win on Wednesday 21 October against the Turks of Galatasaray, 4-2 winners at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium, and remains at the bottom of the table with three defeats in three matches. Manchester United had a nightmare night in Como, which outclassed English club 4 to 1.
The path of the cross continues for Lille in this Champions League, beaten dryly at the Pierre-Mauroy 4-2 stadium against Galatasaray. Despite the doubling of the young Diaoné, the Dogues chain a third defeat in as many days and slide gently, unless miracle, towards a elimination.
