Chainlink launches CCIP 2.0 to give big crypto apps more control over their security

- CCIP 2.0 allows companies to add custom security checks alongside Chainlink's network of 16 independent node operators, with options to hire external providers such as Infosys and Nethermind.
- Aave and Maple have already begun adopting features from the upgrade, while the Risk Management Network no longer serves as the primary safeguard for transactions.
- Johann Eid, Chainlink Labs' chief business officer, stated that "historically, legacy bridges have lost billions due to insecure infrastructure," emphasizing users need not be "cross-chain security infrastructure experts.
