Denmark could eradicate cervical cancer by 2040: study

Denmark aims to eradicate cervical cancer by 2040 thanks to a national HPV vaccination campaign and screening programme, the Danish Cancer Society said on Monday.

Through its membership in the HPV vaccination programme and through screening, the northern country is able to achieve a recurrence rate of less than 4 per 100,000, i.e. the threshold for its eradication.

Cervical cancer 'could be eliminated' in Denmark by 2040

A new report in Denmark has concluded that cervical cancer could effectively be eliminated in the country within the next 15 years.

By 2040, women may be affected by cervical cancer that it will be considered eradicated in Denmark.
