Caroline Flack’s Brother ‘Never Recovered’ From Losing Sister Before His Death
The coroner said he had a history of depression and was nearly four times the legal alcohol limit when he died.
On Thursday, Norfolk Area Coroner Johanna Thompson concluded an inquest into the death of Paul Flack, 55, who died at his Norwich home on June 21, 2026.
Flack had struggled with depression following the 2020 suicide of his sister, television presenter Caroline Flack, and his father Ian's death last year; partner Joanna Millington stated, "I don't think Paul really recovered from this."
Records showed Flack had 296mg of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood, nearly four times the legal driving limit, on the evening of June 21 while celebrating Father's Day.
Delivering a narrative conclusion, Thompson stated Flack died while under the influence of alcohol, adding that his "intent in doing so is unknown." Family members were aware of the evidence despite their absence.
The inquest highlights the ongoing impact of family losses on mental health; support is available through the Samaritans at 116 123 for anyone struggling with distress or difficulty coping.
