GARDINER, N.Y. — A driver who lost control of a vehicle due to a “medical emergency” veered off the shoulder of U.S. Route 44/state Route 55 and struck a tree, state police said Wednesday. At about 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, Lisandro Chihuahua, 27, of Newburgh, was westbound on Route 44/55 when he drove off the shoulder and struck a tree.
